Race Ready 10K: Friday-night fuel, sorted
A simple Chimpanzee kit for the Standard Chartered 10km in Singapore: gels, chews, isotonic and hydration for race night and your last practice run.
Singapore's 10km starts in the evening, when it's still warm and humid. You don't need much fuel for a 10km. You do need a plan you've already tried. This kit gives you three Chimpanzee Natural Vegan Energy Gels (we suggest two Lemon and one Mango with 30 mg caffeine), two packs of Energy Chews, two isotonic sachets and two zero-sugar Hydration sachets. Choose your flavours below. Try your plan on a training run this week, then repeat it on race night.
Chimpanzee gels are made with BIO agave syrup: a clean, natural fuel that delivers smooth, stable energy without upsetting your stomach, with zero preservatives. Take one gel 15–20 minutes before you start exercise, then 1–2 gels per hour. Try it in training before you rely on it in a race.
Timed plan
- Day before: 1 Hydration sachet in 500 ml water.
- 60–90 min before: 1 Isotonic sachet in 500 ml water.
- 15–20 min before: 1 gel, with a few sips of water.
- Halfway (only if you'll be out for more than about 60 min): 1 pack of Energy Chews, or a caffeinated gel if you train with caffeine.
- Spare: keep 1 gel as a backup.
- You won't need everything on the night. The rest is for your rehearsal run.
